Welcome to our new blog

We are entering into the blogging world rather late in time, but I suppose better late than never. This I Believe is an international media project engaging people in writing, sharing, and discussing the core values and beliefs that guide their daily lives. In the US, NPR airs these three-minute essays on All Things Considered and Weekend Edition Sunday. In Canada, there is a related series airing daily over the CBC. There is also a similar series in the works with Radio Netherlands. The project is based on the popular 1950s radio series of the same name hosted by Edward R. Murrow. You can learn about the history of the 1950s series by reading the This I Believe entry on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/This_I_Believe.

This blog is an offshoot of our website, http://thisibelieve.org, where you can read through nearly 30,000 essays submitted to us in the past two years by people from all over the world. You can also read hundreds of essays from Edward R. Murrow's original 1950s version of This I Believe.

The purpose of this blog is to enter into a conversation with the public about our project, to answer questions, take suggestions, and hear your comments about the radio series, our website, etc. It is also a place to share with you timely happenings relating to various aspects of our project. I look forward to hearing what you have to say.
